Environmental Economics Workshop
On Tuesday 10th June the Merseyside Food Network hosted an Environmental Economics Workshop at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Liverpool sponsored by Food Northwest
The theme of the event was to assist Member Companies to introduce cost effective environmental improvements which ensured both legal compliance and addressed the increasingly important demands from customers for environmentally sustainable production and products.
Around 40 delegates from North West businesses heard presentations from:
Julian Walker-Palin: Head of Asda Corporate Policy for Sustainability and Ethics
Sid Belkiri: Yield UK Ltd
Professor Dennis Kehoe: The AIMES Centre
Shaun McClarnon: Utility Masters Ltd
The key themes of these presentations can be accessed through the relevant links.
Specific improvement "surgeries" provided an opportunity for Members to start the process of implementing waste minimisation and cost reduction programmes.
Companies wishing to take advantage of any of these programmes should contact Norman Cox : e.mail cox1@btinternet.com or on mobile: 07803 921815
